I used to work at a coffee shop. As a barista I would see hundreds of drooping faces, hunched shoulders, and heads hung low. Looking at all these drooping faces incourged me to do something. I relised that I was not just making a cup of coffee but was being given an opportunity. So I made a conchess dessision. I was going to make sure that every person who passed by my counter either recived a smile, a compliment, or a joke. Any form of positive interaction that was more then just "here's your drink".
Do you know what happened? Before the costomer had even taken a sip of their drink, their sad face had gone away. Now don't get me wrong, coffee is a magical thing that brings many people joy, including myself. What I started to see is that same joy (or better) could come from inside of me and be passed onto someone ells.
